Tax Reminder ("the App") is developed and published by Pinclave ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how the App handles your information. The short version: we do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on our servers — everything you enter stays on your device. The free version of the App shows personalized banner ads served by Google, which involves the advertising data and tracking described in Section 4; subscribing removes the ads.

1. Information we collect

We run no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics of our own. Your business names, entity types, states, formation dates, employer and contractor settings, filed/paid history, muted deadlines, and reminder preferences are stored only locally on your device by default, and are never sent to us. The one exception is the optional cloud backup described in Section 2: it is off unless you switch it on, and even then it sends only end-to-end-encrypted data to your own Apple or Google account — never to us. Separately, the free version's banner ads are served by Google as described in Section 4.

2. How your data is stored

Your businesses and preferences live in the App's local storage on your device. The tax-deadline dataset itself ships inside the App — it is reference data about filing dates, not data about you. Pinclave runs no servers for your data, so nothing is ever uploaded to or stored by us.

Optional cloud backup (off by default). The App includes an optional backup so you can restore your businesses on a new phone. It is off unless you turn it on in Settings — until then, none of your business or tax information leaves your device. When you enable it, your data is end-to-end encrypted and stored in your own cloud account, never with us:

  • On iPhone, the App encrypts your profile on your device (AES-GCM, 256-bit) and stores the encrypted copy in your iCloud. The encryption key stays in your iCloud Keychain, so only devices signed in to your Apple ID can decrypt it.
  • On Android, backup uses the operating system's encrypted Auto Backup to your Google account.

In both cases Apple or Google receives only ciphertext, Pinclave never receives your data and holds no key to read it, and you can switch backup off and delete the cloud copy at any time in Settings. Data held in your cloud account is also covered by Apple's or Google's privacy policy.

3. Network use

The App works offline for everything except the optional cloud backup (Section 2), advertising in the free version (Section 4), and app-store billing below. Deadlines are computed on your device and reminders are scheduled as local notifications — there are no push-notification servers. When you tap an "Official info" link, the App hands off to your device's browser to open the IRS or state agency website; from that point your visit is governed by that site's privacy policy, and the App sends nothing about you along with it.

The App offers an optional paid subscription that removes ads. Billing is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their privacy policies — we do not receive or store your name, card details, or billing address, only an anonymous confirmation from Apple or Google that a valid subscription exists:

4. Advertising (free version)

The free version of the App shows banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC). To serve and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect information from your device, including your device's advertising identifier (Apple IDFA or Android Advertising ID), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Pinclave does not receive this information and does not combine it with anything you enter in the App — your businesses, deadlines, and settings are never shared with Google or any advertiser.

These ads are personalized. By default, and wherever you allow tracking, the banner ads are personalized (interest-based): Google uses the identifiers and signals above to select and measure the ads it considers relevant to you, which can include building and using an advertising profile tied to your device's advertising identifier. Under the App Store's and Google Play's definitions this is "tracking," and it is disclosed as such in the App's store privacy labels.

Your choices. On iPhone, the App asks for permission under App Tracking Transparency before any tracking identifier is used; if you decline — or until you allow it — ads are non-personalized. You can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization in Settings › Google › Ads. Where local law requires it, the App also shows a consent form before loading ads, which you can revisit at any time via "Ad privacy options" in the App's settings. The only way to remove ads entirely is the ad-free subscription.

Removing ads. Subscribing to the ad-free upgrade stops the App from requesting and showing ads. Google's handling of advertising data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Notifications

Reminders are local notifications generated and scheduled on your device. The App asks for notification permission only to show them, and you can change lead times, the time of day, or turn them off entirely in the App's settings or your device settings. The notifications themselves are shown only on your device and are never sent to us or to any server.

6. Children's privacy

The App is intended for taxpayers and business owners, and it collects nothing from anyone.

7. Your choices and rights

We hold none of your data. You can edit or delete any business inside the App, and you can remove everything by clearing the App's data or uninstalling it. Advertising choices are described in Section 4. If you turned on cloud backup, you can disable it and delete the cloud copy from Settings; because that backup lives in your own Apple or Google account and is encrypted with a key only you hold, it is removed under your control — we keep no copy and there is nothing for us to recover.

8. Not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency

Tax Reminder is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, or any federal, state, or local government agency. References to IRS or state tax forms, form numbers, and agency names are for identification only.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
